Back to CEGEP 2025 – Hard to Do More with Less
The CAQ government and Minister of higher education Pascale Déry have imposed unprecedented cuts on the CEGEP network, confirming that higher education is not a priority for them. These cuts are forcing CEGEPs to deprive themselves of essential resources: colleagues, professionals, and valuable expertise are disappearing, taking with them years of commitment, passion, and knowledge. Despite this, professional staff are still being asked to maintain quality services for students, in an untenable logic of “doing more with less.”
In response to this situation, the Fédération du personnel professionnel des collèges (FPPC-CSQ) is launching a mobilization campaign. Professional staff, recognized for their exemplary dedication, refuse to bear alone the burden of decisions that undermine the future of higher education.
We call on everyone to take action as we begin the 2025 school year. Wear the blue square, highlight the indispensable contribution of professional staff, make your voice heard in all forums, and raise awareness among our loved ones and colleagues about the reality of life in CEGEPs.
Together, let’s unite our voices to defend professional services in CEGEPs and the future of our institutions.
